The discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb

$22.00

“Do you see anything?”. “Yes, something wonderful.” A few, scant words immortalize forever the most unrepeatable moments in human history; words pronounced 100 years ago, on the occasion of an archaeological discovery that remains the most extraordinary of all time.
The volume that announced the discovery of the tomb to the world in 1922, with a precious introduction by the famous archaeologist Zahi Hawass.
One of the darkest phases of the history of Egypt, and the golden age of modern archaeology, relive together in Carter's pages, expressly retranslated here to celebrate the centenary of the event; pages that read like an adventure book and a mystery, but above all as an account of a research that cannot yet be said to be concluded.

HOWARD CARTER (1874-1939), English archaeologist and Egyptologist, began as a designer specializing in the reproduction of wall reliefs and archaeological finds. From 1891 he participated in various excavation campaigns in Egypt. In 1907 he was hired by the wealthy aristocrat Lord Carnarvon, who entrusted him with the task of exploring the area in which, in 1922, the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun was discovered.

ZAHI HAWASS, Egyptian archaeologist and public official, with his dynamism has contributed to enormously increasing awareness of the value of Egypt's archaeological heritage.
