Paki and Biggy, two baby elephants, join the ranks of animals to be saved from which the necklace takes its name. Paki, the youngest of the pack, falls into the river one day. Biggy, her older brother, dives in to save her and the two baby elephants are dragged away by the current. Thus begins their adventure among enormous baobabs, thoughtful birds and courageous soldier-termites. More and more thirsty, they arrive in a village of huts inhabited by pygmies. In the center of the village the drums sound for the rain dance. As the first beneficial drops begin to fall, however, they are forced to flee because of poachers. After running madly for miles and miles, they realize they are home. The whole pack welcomes them with roars of joy and that night they celebrate with a splendid banquet: not only to celebrate the escape from danger, but also because Paki has finally lost her milk tusks and has sprouted... "the grown-up ones" . And it is precisely for the ivory of their tusks that around 20,000 elephants are killed every year in Africa: we must act quickly to save these giants of the savannah!
